What is Giving Tuesday?
Giving Tuesday is a 24-hour community-wide fundraising event. It's the day when the SMR community rallies together on the Global Day of Giving. Since 2016, Knights united together on Giving Tuesday and we have raised over $167,000 for our students, faculty and facilities!
Tuesday, November 28, 2023, beginning at 12 a.m. (EST) and concluding at 11:59 p.m. (EST). The early giving window opens on Friday, November 17 at 8 a.m.
Why should I participate?
Your gift on November 28 will support the new SMR Turf Field, SMR Fine Arts Programs and the SMR Annual Fund! Every gift will transform the lives of all St. Mary’s Ryken students!
Is it safe to make my gift online?
Absolutely! SMR Giving Tuesday uses a website platform that is PCI level-one compliant. This is a set of requirements designed to ensure the highest level of security for businesses that process credit card data. St. Mary’s Ryken will not store, nor be able to access, your credit card information.
Where do gifts go?
You will be able to choose where your gift(s) go! Gifts can be made to the new SMR Turf Field and Video Board, SMR Fine Arts or the SMR Knight (Annual) Fund. When you support the Knight Fund, YOU make a difference in the lives of every student. Your support is vital to what makes St. Mary's Ryken extraordinary and provides the resources our students need to achieve in the classroom, create in the arts, excel in athletics and grow in their faith life while becoming more compassionate and caring young adults.
Is there a minimum donation amount?
No, gifts of every size are a blessing and support the transformational experience of every student. Any and all gifts make a significant difference in furthering the St. Mary’s Ryken experience for every student!
Can I send a gift by mail or phone?
Yes! Donors can donate via phone or mail as well as the web site during Giving Tuesday. All gifts received by November 29, 2023, at Noon, will be counted toward the campaign total. To make a gift by phone, call 301-373-4177 or send your gift by mail to:

Is my gift tax deductible?
Yes! Your gift is entirely tax deductible. You will receive an immediate email acknowledgment and gift confirmation that will serve as your receipt for tax purposes.
If I make a gift early, will it count toward Giving Tuesday?
Yes! The early giving window opens on Friday, November 17 at 8 a.m.
